Excited to record tomorrow night with Melanie Du Puy to talk about sex, breath and yoga. I don't know what the heck we are going to talk about, but I know it's going to be fun! Her website can be found here and she leads workshops if you are in the Los Angeles area. And, you may have noticed that I added an Amazon book widget in the side margin of some of my favorite reads - i definitely like the dark/gothic stuff, so it's not for the squeamish. The Musing Mommies podcast is on my my faves, Kim and Dawn are so mellow and so sweet. I love the 'real conversation' genre of podcast, of two friends just chattin' away. And, I was tickled that Kim suggested they interview me for an upcoming episode. We did a hour-long interview via Skype last night and it was so fun, I could have talked to those two for hours. Do you have a crazy story about a 'bad' date? I know you do! I'm compiling listener stories to be produced and edited in the style of 'This American Life'. Was your date so bad that you want to be anonymous? That's fine too. Email me a quick blurb and if it is the light-hearted, quirky tone I'm looking for - then I will call you (that's ok, right?), exchange a few more emails or set up a Skype interview. Oprah's Book Club...

There was some debate of the value of Oprah's 'Book Club' selection on our last episode - (thumbs up from Jerilyn, thumbs down from Jen) so we are linking to the complete recommendations here and you can decide for yourself. Somehow, the Faulkner choices seem a little out-of-place, but who knows, if you can get through 'As I Lay Dying', go for it. We also ponder the romance novel as a literary aphrodisiac, particularly Stephanie Meyer's wildly popular 'Twilight' series. Does reading put you in the mood? And RIP J.D. Salinger, if you haven't read his books, do yourself a huge favor and read the perfect balance of whimsy and darkness.

On another note, we curse Amy's husband's lousy appendix and wish him a speedy recovery from his surgery! Another lesson in 'Expect the Unexpected'. Next week, we are looking forward to recording with Amy's mom, and diving deeply into her cinematic faves. So it will be a 'movie' episode.

..we may be talking about 'DATING" as our topic, although I'm sure conversation will veer into the unexpected. This week, the co-hosts and I have dealt with kids' ear infections, fevers, coughs and a husbands appendicitis, but that hasn't thrown off our plans to record this Thursday night.
