02.05.10 Love you, Evie!  Yes, infamous Evie Forstadt, Amy's mom joined us to share some of her favorite and least favorite movies. Check out the complete list of our 'blog' section. The 'Tell A Friend' contest is still in effect for the Family Guy DVD and signed poster- currently, the top number of friends told in a single thread is '5' - so if you can tell more that 5 friends about The Because Show, you may win.  Don't forget to become a 'fan' of The Because Show on facebook, and show your support by  leaving us a review on iTunes!

01.29.10Episode #14 takes some twist and turns with the theme this week of 'Expect The Unexpected'. In addition, we mention some good reads including Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, The Corrections by John Franzen  and the Twilight books.

February Contest 'Something Darkside' Family Guy DVD & signed poster! For the month long contest, we're going to make you work for it! 'The Because Show' is trying to grow it's audience, so here goes: Write an inbox message to your facebook friends who will like and listen to 'The Because Show' - you know, open up a new message and in the 'TO' line, start adding your pal's names. And include Jerilyn as well, as one of the people you are sending the thread to. (Are you Jerilyn's friend on Facebook? If not, send her a 'friend request' pronto. "Jerilyn Mettlin Dever"). The body of the subject can say something like 'I found a new podcast I think you will like' or 'Try it, you'll like it" or 'I'm sending this because its part of a contest i'm doing" or something to that effect. The entrant who sends the fb message to the most people, wins!. No 'random drawing' this time! Jerilyn will keep track of all facebook threads for the next month, and a winner will be chosen for the prize package!

01.24.10 This week we take a break from our regular format for a short interview with Jerilyn's dad, Dr. Curtis Mettlin on the complicated connection between diet and cancer.  The regular hosts were unable to meet this week as the torrential rainstorms over the past week threw everyone in Los Angeles for a loop. On another note, we give a long overdue 'thank you' to Airdrie and Derek at the Lipgloss and Laptops podcast for not only the 'shout-out' on the final episode, but also for their technical recommendations. And we look forward to next week when we will be back in action, better than ever.

01.15.10 In this week's Episode #12, we try out not only a vodka Dubonnet cocktail concocted by John Schaefer, but also our new microphones and mixer. Susan, Jerilyn and Amy ponder a negative review, discuss new favorite websites and muse about discipline & self-discipline. Susan shares her adventure at underground NYC Club 'The Vault' and Jerilyn reveals her previous employment on a phone 'chat' line. The winner for our 'Dante's Inferno' Giveaway is announced.  Music this week is by DJ Suicide, the intro is 'Ear Clap' and the outro is 'Prisoner of War'  discovered via musicalley.

01.08.10 Hello Listeners! For Episode #11, we've got a new music, new attitudes and a new unedited 'Because Show' for you. Our topic is 'SLEEP" and it leads us down a unexpected conversational path.
